Baby sitting on the sand in a Sunshine State Florida bamboo romper, ready for a Disney World trip

Disney World Packing List for Babies & Toddlers (What to Bring for Hot Florida Days and Nights)

Planning a Disney World trip with a baby or toddler is equal parts magic and logistics. Orlando is warm almost all year, the parks involve miles of walking, and little ones still need real naps and solid nights of sleep in a hotel room. This packing list covers what we've found actually matters, from stroller gear to the right pajamas for hot Florida nights, so you can pack once and enjoy the trip.

Before you pack: plan for Florida heat (even in winter)

Central Florida averages highs in the 70s even in December and January, and it's often in the 80s and 90s from spring through fall. Hotel rooms swing between hot afternoons and heavy air conditioning at night. That means breathable layers beat bulky ones. Lightweight, moisture-wicking fabrics like bamboo viscose keep babies comfortable in the heat and cozy enough under the A/C. For a deeper dive into dressing little ones for warm-weather sleep, see our hot-climate pajama guide for Florida.

Disney World packing list for babies (0–24 months)

Clothing

  • 2 outfits per day: parks are sweaty and sticky, so plan on a mid-day change.
  • Lightweight, breathable bodysuits or rompers for park days.
  • 1 pair of sleep pajamas per night, plus a spare for blowouts. A Sunshine State bamboo zippy works for both hotel sleep and stroller naps, and the convertible feet fold over when it's warm.
  • A light swaddle or blanket for stroller shade and air-conditioned restaurants.
  • Sun hat and baby-safe sunscreen (for babies over 6 months; ask your pediatrician for younger infants).

Sleep gear

  • Pack-and-play or travel crib (many resorts provide one on request, so call ahead).
  • Portable white-noise machine to drown out hallway noise and fireworks.
  • Blackout solution for windows (travel blackout shades or clips).
  • Familiar sleep items: the same sleep sack, lovey, or pajamas they use at home helps with new surroundings.

Park day bag

  • Diapers (1 per hour in the park is a safe estimate) and wipes.
  • Changing pad, plus zip bags for wet or messy clothes.
  • Bottles, formula or snacks, and a refillable water bottle for you.
  • Stroller fan and a rain cover. Florida afternoon showers are almost daily in summer.
  • Teether or small toy for ride lines.

Disney World packing list for toddlers and big kids

  • Breathable shorts and tees, one set per day plus a backup.
  • Short-sleeve pajamas for warm hotel nights. Our Sunshine State short-sleeve bamboo pajama set is made for hot sleepers.
  • Comfortable broken-in shoes (never new shoes on park day), plus water shoes for splash pads.
  • Swimsuit and cover-up for the resort pool.
  • Ponchos, which are cheaper to bring from home than to buy in the park.
  • Autograph book and a fat marker, if your kids love character meet-and-greets.

Why parents pack bamboo pajamas for Florida trips

Bamboo viscose is soft, breathable, and wicks moisture, which matters when kids go from a 90-degree afternoon to an air-conditioned room. It's also gentle on sensitive or eczema-prone skin that can get irritated by heat, sunscreen, and chlorine. And it packs small: a few pairs roll up into a corner of the suitcase. If you're unsure about sizing, read our bamboo pajama sizing guide, since bamboo sleepwear is designed to fit snug.

Tips for surviving the parks with little ones

  1. Rope drop, then rest. Arrive at opening when it's coolest and lines are short, head back to the hotel for a mid-day nap, and return for the evening.
  2. Use Rider Switch. One parent rides while the other waits with the baby, then you swap without waiting in line again.
  3. Find the Baby Care Centers. Each park has one with changing tables, nursing rooms, and a quiet space to cool down.
  4. Keep bedtime familiar. Same pajamas, same song, same white noise. Routine travels well even when everything else is new.

Bring a little sunshine home

Our Sunshine State collection features a Florida print of palm trees, sunshine, and coastal charm on buttery-soft bamboo, in sizes from newborn to big kid. It's a sweet souvenir from your trip and a favorite gift for Florida grandparents. Pair a zippy with our long-sleeve two-piece set for matching siblings, and have a magical trip!
